how it all started…

Diversability Inc. is an established 501(c)3 nonprofit organization serving the community of people with diversabilities. Founder and Executive Director, Amanda Hamer, has been involved in the diversability community since 2004, shortly after her oldest daughter was born with Down syndrome. Amanda feels blessed to have a strong village of friends, family and community members who guide and support all her endeavors.  

Diversability Inc. started in March 2016 after a great deal of processing and collaboration among my village. I believe deeply in the proverb “it takes a village” and am forever grateful to my fellow villagers who provided insight, time and energy to the genesis of Diversability Inc.

The vision that was the catalyst for Diversability Inc. has launched while our direct service programs continue to thrive.  I could not be more proud of our dynamic team who serves our community with integrity, holding individuals at the center, honoring strengths and implementing a holistic approach.
