creatively connecting community
diversabilityvillage : a resource collective
Our Story
DiversabilityVillage is the vision of Diversability Inc. founder and Executive Director, Amanda Hamer. Throughout her years of working in social services and as a change agent in the diversability community, Amanda heard numerous stories from individuals, families and professionals struggling to know what resources were available, where to find them, and in many ways, just wanting to know where to start. Amanda began researching and meeting with members of her own village to create a platform that would organize and simplify access to the variety of excellent resources available to the diversability community.
Leveraging her extensive involvement in Central Oregon and her superpower of connecting people, Amanda assembled a diverse team of individuals including parents, professionals, agency providers, and others to begin the arduous process of building a digital resource tool. Together, we developed DiversabilityVillage.Org, an easy-to-use, beautifully designed website connecting people affiliated (in one or more ways!) with diversabilities/disabilities to local resources.
DiversabilityVillage.org is becoming the go-to resource for our diversability community; a one-stop-shop linking the community to resources like service providers, housing, service eligibility, recreation, activities, support groups, and so much more!
our vision
Aligning with Diversability Inc.’s mission and vision of empowering connections and growing potential for everyone, our vision for DiversabilityVillage is that everyone around the globe reaches their greatest potential through mindful utilization of accessible resources. We intend to meet every accessibility need possible as we develop tools and platforms that connect diverse communities.

Village Guides - human connection for resource navigation
New diagnosis? New to the Central Oregon community? New to guardianship? All transitions involve “New”. We are here to guide individuals and families as they navigate the often complex world of disabilities, or diversabilities. Village Guides are parents and guardians who have lived experience and professional training. Village Guides offer the human connection aspect of our DiversabilityVillage resource website. When life feels overwhelming, we provide space for sharing stories as well as support accessing resources that are meaningful to unique family dynamics.
You are not alone. We are here to support you and help you build or re-build your village.
